Oct. 7, 2004 Hi ALL, I ran into an old friend the other day and he reminded me that I have been in this business of promoting bands for 30 YEARS! Wow, how time flies when you're having fun. As if I needed a reason to party. This is as good as one as any. This Friday I have a show at the PUSSYCAT LOUNGE with some bands and band members who have been doing it as long, if not longer than that. TOMMY FRENZY was an original member of TUFF DARTS along with some of the other members of his current band. They were on the 1st CBGB's Live Album that was released in 1975. They also had ROBERT GORDON in the band back then. Then, we have LACH & THE SECRETS. LACH has been around for almost as long and his drummer, BILLY FICA, was, and is a member of TELEVISION. That was another of the GREAT bands that came out of CB's way back when it all started. I have a couple of hot up-and-coming bands on the bill with them and there might be a few surprises. Here's the good part: There will be $2 RHEINGOLDS from 9pm to 10pm to get us started and then from 1am to 2am we will repeat the $2 RHEINGOLDS to finish us off. The line-up is below. So come out and help me celebrate 30 YEARS of NYC Rock'n'Roll! Here's what's coming up: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7 FRIDAY, October 8 SATURDAY, October 9 SUNDAY, October 10 TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12 THURSDAY, October 14 FRIDAY, October 15 SUNDAY, October 17 That's it for now. Coming in November, THE 12 DAYS OF WOOD , a Scorpion Birthday Celebration. Some of the bands scheduled: BANANA FISH ZERO, SEAMONSTER, NEW PROFESSIONALS, THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE, BANTAM and many more. The locations? CUTTING ROOM, GRAND CENTRAL BAR, PUSSYCAT LOUNGE, OTTO'S SHRUNKEN HEAD, DELANCEY LOUNGE, C-NOTE, DON HILL'S, CONTINENTAL and BOOGALOO. This WILL be fun! Hope to see you soon. Take care, FRANK WOOD "Then HE commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing
under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall
abide with him of his labor the days of his life, which GOD giveth him
under the sun." "We're on a mission from GOD!" |
