July 1, 2004 Hi All, I haven't sent any of these in a while because I moved my computer to my new apartment and then I couldn't figure out how to make it work. I think I got it now. I hope so. If not, then I'll be typing for nothing. Anyway, with the help of STEVE PANG from OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD, BANANA FISH ZERO, GINO's P.A. system, TEMPTRESS's generator and a bunch of friends, together we ALL pulled off the BANANA FISH ZERO float in this year's CONEY ISLAND MERMAID PARADE! And it was FANTASTIC! STEVE followed the float in his black '63 RIVIERA and the firemen pulled in right behind us. Maybe they remembered LUNDO's write up of them last year. Probably it was because they remembered THE MIGHTY AFRODITE and her flapping tail and etc. THANK YOU to everyone who helped out and joined with us to have a great time out in the sun. The after party at the PUSSYCAT was an astounding success. BANANA FISH ZERO, APOCALYPSTIK, PRETTY SUICIDE, WOUNDED, THE RUNNS and PALE HORSE all rocked to a packed house with DJ ROB NITRO. Again, THANKS to everyone who came all the way back to the city to party with us. Then on Sunday nite, there was a birthday party for RYOTA (my roomate), KAIZA (my assistant) and HEATHER LARKIN at OTTO's. Again, BANANA FISH ZERO played (they never get too tired to rock out for a party) along with THE HEATHER LARKIN BAND, WOUNDED, THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE, THE HANDSOME PUBLIC, ZACK MILLER and of course the "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM. It was a great party and we had 5 different cakes! Starting next week I will be doing shows at SUITE 16 at 16th St. & 8th Ave. on the first Weds. of every month. Then in August I will be making a foray into Brooklyn to start doing shows every Thursday nite at the GRAND CENTRAL BAR on Grand St. in Williamsburg. Hopefully I'll be able to continue providing the best bands for the best fans in the world. Here's what I have coming up in the near future: FRIDAY, JULY 2 SATURDAY, JULY 3 SUNDAY, JULY 4 MONDAY, JULY 5 WEDNESDAY, JULY 7 THURSDAY, JULY 8 SUNDAY, JULY 11 MONDAY, JULY 12 TUESDAY, JULY 13 That's all for now. If anyone has any good photos of the MERMAID PARADE, please send them to me and we'll post them on the website. Hope to see you soon. Take care, FRANK WOOD "Then HE commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing
under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall
abide with him of his labor the days of his life, which GOD giveth him
under the sun." "We're on a mission from GOD!" |
